Sydney Ice Bear is raising awareness of the need for action on climate change now. Sea ice in the Arctic is melting at an alarming rate, and we need to take action now if polar bears, and other species, are to survive. The Purves Environmental Fund is acting as the recipient non-profit organisation

Customs House Square, Circular Quay, Sunday 5 June - Sydney Ice Bear will be at Customs House Square, Circular Quay, Sydney from Friday 3 June – Friday 10 June. You're invited to visit the life-size melting ice sculpture, touch it, learn more about the plight of the polar bear and the need for action on climate change. Singer Katie Noonan will perform at a FREE World Environment Day celebration on Sunday 5 June, 12.30pm – 1.30pm along with speakers from WWF, 1 million women and AYCC. About Ice Bear Sydney Ice Bear is the sixth stop on Ice Bear's global tour – previous appearances have been in Copenhagen, London, Toronto, Montreal and Manchester. Created by British Sculptor Mark Coreth in 2009 to raise public awareness of the urgent issue of climate change, Ice Bear has been brought to Australia by the Purves Environmental Fund in support of WWF, 1 million women and Australian Youth Climate Coalition.
